if not, it can vary from 'try again' to visiting a tuner anyway with a sheepish expression on your face. once you've got a modified file though writing is just the reverse of reading. Once you've read the ecu, it's up to you how you get the file modified, some tuners will insist you come to them, some might be willing to sell you files or you might opt to do your own. It's complex with few rules so you learn on a case by case basis. ![]() Not all ecu types support full read, some do but only accept a partial write etc. You've essentially got it, you download the file using the programming tool, which will give you either a full readout of the ecu or a partial readout, depending on the type of ecu fitted and what it supports which will *usually cover the areas needed for modification.
